It was co-organised by BBMRI-ERIC (Biobanking and BioMolecular resources Research Infrastructure) and ESBB (European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking) and provided an exciting and unique opportunity for the biobanking community to discuss the future challenges for biobanking, network and explore new prospects for cooperation. The theme of 2018 edition was “Biosharing for Scientific Discovery”. Donato Bonifazi, Chief Executive Officer of Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF), coordinator of EPTRI, spoke about omics technologies and the setup of the EPTRI thematic platform supporting biomarkers use in paediatric medicines.
