The 18th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2018) took place from July 1st to 6th, 2018, in Kyoto, Japan. The main theme of WCP2018 was “Pharmacology for the Future – Science, Drug Development and Therapeutics”.

TEDDY was present at the event with a poster showing the first activities performed in the framework of the PedCRIN project, the Paediatric Clinical Research Infrastructure Network coordinated by ECRIN aimed to develop specific tools for the management of multinational paediatric clinical trials. In this framework, Donato Bonifazi, CEO of CVBF (member of the TEDDY Network), presented the development of pharmacovigilance tools for causality and severity assessment in paediatric population.

The meeting has seen the participation of 4500 attendees from 83 countries, allowing scientific interactions and comparisons of interdisciplinary studies among life sciences and medicine that will serve human health.

Emphasis has been given to the scientific programs related to drug development and therapeutics, allowing thus researchers from academia and those from industry to interact with each other in order to promote innovation strategies in pharmacology and drug development.
