CVBF is proud to announce its outstanding achievement at the xShare Open Calls Award Ceremony, held on the 2nd of February 2026, during the EUCROF26 Conference in Amsterdam. Our organization was honored with the Platinum Award (First Prize) in collaboration with Milo Health by Eclevar for enabling a patient-initiated pre-screening pathway that allows individuals to self-nominate as potential trial candidates., and the Bronze Award in collaboration with Qwince to bridge the digital gap between healthcare delivery and clinical research, enabling automated, regulation-compliant integration of EHR data into eCRFs to support efficient, secure multicenter clinical trials. .
The ceremony took place at EUCROF26, Europe’s leading clinical research conference, which attracted the continent’s foremost experts in clinical trials, health data innovation, and regulatory affairs. The xShare Open Calls initiative, funded by Horizon Europe, represents one of the most significant efforts to enable seamless health data sharing across Europe through the “Yellow Button” and the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF).
Proposals were rigorously evaluated by an independent board of assessors against eleven weighted criteria, including business use case correspondence, patient impact potential, healthcare-professional efficiency gains, and compliance with European Health Data Space (EHDS) and EEHRxF standards. Being selected as winners from a competitive field across Europe validates our commitment to advancing interoperable health data ecosystems that place patients at the heart, enable secure data exchange, and unlock the secondary use of health information to accelerate clinical research and improve care.
Donato Bonifazi proudly represented CVBF at the event, attending both the award ceremony and the workshop for all winners, together with Ana Dilo who is a member of the EUCROF team in the xShare project.
These awards mark an important milestone in CVBF’s journey toward implementing EHDS-compliant solutions. Our collaboration with Milo Health by Eclevar, represented by the Chief Data Officer of Eclevar, Sébastien Meier Piantanida and Qwince represented by their CEO, Gianmarco Troia, demonstrates the power of partnership in driving innovation that delivers tangible benefits to patients, healthcare professionals, and the broader research community.
CVBF remains committed to advancing interoperable health data solutions that improve patient outcomes, enhance clinical efficiency, and contribute to the realization of the European Health Data Space vision.
