CVBF Scientific Committee Establishment Meeting

On July, 14th 2015, the Scientific Committee of CVBF has been officially appointed and composed by the following representatives: Adriana Ceci, Annagrazia Altavilla, Enrico Bosone, Pietro Folino, Cosimo Altomare, Maria Mellado, Viveca Odlind. According to art. 20 of the Statute of CVBF, the Scientific Committee operates with the aim to provide an operative contribution to the annual planning and implementation of CVBF scientific activities. It will participate in the proposal of new initiatives, the development or revision of documents and research papers, the preparation of research projects of common interest that are competitive both at national and international level, as well as the planning and organisation of events. The meeting was divided in two sessions, with the first one dedicated to the presentation of the Consortium and its members: University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (UniBA), Fondazione per la Ricerca Farmacologica Gianni Benzi Onlus (FGB), the Italian Group for Pharmacoeconomic Studies (GISF), PHArmaceutical Research Management srl (PHARM) and Bioikòs Farma srl (BIOIKOS). DEEP at the XXIV GIQAR National Congress: Naples, Italy

GIQAR (Gruppo Italiano Quality Assurance nella Ricerca), established under the SSFA, has organized its XXIV National Congress at the Royal Continental Hotel of Naples (Italy) from May 27th to 29th, 2015. The event, entitled ” La Qualità e le GXP: l’asticella si sposta sempre più in alto” (Quality and GXP: the bar is moved higher and higher) wanted to emphasize the effort to allow compliance with new laws with respect to GXP and maintain a solid quality system. The most important legislative innovation in this context, is represented by the new European Regulation on Clinical Trials that will undoubtedly result in an adjustment of the quality systems to implement the innovations planned. In addition, the adaptation to new technologies in the GXP (e.g. Good Laboratory Practice), where studies on Gene Therapy should be carried out according to GLP, was highlighted. […]

TEDDY Network meeting in Bari – pioneering for Paediatric Research Infrastructure

Under the progressive interest for a better quality of life in children, on January 9th 2015, the city of Bari (Italy) hosted the TEDDY Network meeting. Representing a common interest of all European countries for research in health, TEDDY is an independent multidisciplinary, multinational Network composed of partners from 15 countries and coordinated by CVBF. It is aimed at facilitating the performance of good qual­ity paediatric studies and research. Representatives of network members took this opportunity to discuss the creation of aEuropean Research Infrastructure dedicated to paediatric research within 2016’s next European Roadmap, a system which is being launched by the ESFRI, of assessing and selecting research infrastructures (possible candidates to ad hoc European funding initiatives by the European Commission). The main topic of debate revolved around putting forward a proposal to establish a Research Infrastructurefor paediatric drug development by exploiting the activity and the expertise gained by existing paediatric Networks and excellence centres, such as TEDDY, GRiP (Global Research in Paediatrics), Enpr-EMA, FP7 projects Consortia, etc. […]
