EPMD – European Paediatric Medicines Database 2021-04-15T07:44:22+00:00

Role of CVBF

EPMD is a database containing information (indication, dosages, age of use, clinical studies, etc.) on paediatric drugs authorised by EMA under the centralised procedure. It is aimed to create a harmonised, integrated and reliable European source of information by collecting data from regulatory sources. It is a useful instrument to provide all the stakeholders with appropriate information concerning the rational use of paediatric medicines and to identify unmet medical needs in paediatrics: healthcare professionals, institutional bodies, companies, patients’ associations and families can freely access to the database. A periodic report about information on EMA authorised drugs with a paediatric indication is periodically produced and disseminated throughout the Network.

Since 2015, a report is prepared at the end of each year to summarize the status of paediatric medicines licensed by EMA:
